My student is planning to go toward physical therapy (DPT) and Pitt is well known on it. He also admitted to Stony Brook with merits and the COA will be similar to in state tuition. Stony Brook is also known to have great medical resources and closer to home (5.5hr to Pitt vs 2.5hr to SB). My Pitt junior got $5 K a year OOS and paying $45 K a year is a huge improvement over paying $85 K a year at a private school. Their health careers opportunities are fantastic, I went to 2 Ivy League schools and am constantly in awe of all she is participating in at Pitt.

Lawrenceville is a super cute little neighborhood near Pitt (5-10 minute drive), less touristy/commercial than Strip District. Butler Street has independent boutiques and fun restaurants. Enjoy! My daughter is a Pitt junior and we love visiting (from MD) and find new things to do every time.

He also got honors at UMass at 16K merit per year, making UMass still more expensive than Binghamton, but less than Pitt, so Pitt is the most expensive.
