Went to my local chevy dealership yesterday afternoon. They have 0 silverados with the 3.0 duramax. The salesman was somewhat helpful, but we had to do Chevy's "build a truck", as in order one. Day 2 it was back at the dealer for a coolant leak (hose not fully clipped on at factory, so they say) after 180 miles. Got it back and 2 days later I got the “Acceleration reduced drive with care” message as well as “service traction control ... 2012 LML Duramax surges and has weak acceleration. I started to have issues when I was suddenly put into limp mode (couldn't go past 1000 rpms). Cleared the codes and it came out of it but with weak acceleration and surging while in gear as seen in the video. I have an '05 duramax. Am having acceleration issues at 2000 rpm. Once I hit 2000, regardless of the gear, it bogs down, loosing acceleration. then it will not run over 2000 rpm in high gear, which is about 65 mph. The Duramax is famous for rubbed through wire issues.. Pump up your fuel primer on the fuel filter head and let it sit (preferably overnight ). Recheck it in the morning and if the primer button is soft, start by rebuilding your fuel filter head or replacing it. Go through all fuel lines.
