The first thing you need to check is to see if you have 12 volts to the positive terminal of the coil while the engine is cranking. If you do not, we need to figure out why. If you do have 12 volts to the coil, the problem is most likely in the points. Visually inspect them. Clean or replace as necessary.The only reason the VTX doesnt is because the Bosch +4 plugs seem to work better in that particular application. Missing under load is a classic symptom of a secondary ignition issue. This is especially critical with the wasted spark system as both plugs fire in series at the same time. Just because it is cheap, change the condenser and be sure it is on the + side of the coil, not the neg like a points system.

Serial number of the tractor is C314L 19146LM. Took the points off and cleaned them. They were a little pitted so I filed them down to take the pitting out. Regapped them a little under .020".
