Indeed that is apparently standard procedure at at least one field office (Seattle). You might get a combo. Your spouse should be available to be be invited into your N-400. Calling USCIS to derail your N-400 strikes me as a really bad idea.

But seem like the i751 takes forever to be approved. Based on the photo, you submitted the n-400 after 3 years as green card holder and you had the naturalization interview you went to interview and they approved both i751 and n400.Possibly your I-751 will be approved without an interview.
