The diaphragm on top of the carburetor lifts the main jet needle for operation from about quarter throttle to full throttle. If the diaphragm is cracked they will not have any power. Pilot screw adjustment. Based upon earlier advice here I set out to adjust the pilot screws out a bit to address some popping at low speed that appeared to start when the warm weather came. I finally got around to do this and have set the screw to 2 1/2 turns out for both carbs.
