Tried disconnecting the battery, the whole drive straight thing, brake pads, rotors, fluid has all been done recently. Starter, battery, alternator all tested good, starts and runs just fine as if the lights weren’t on. Tran fluid is good, 4WD works.

Ok. It sounds like there is either a problem with one of the cam sensors or the crank sensor. If you have a problem or code for either of these sensors, it will cause the symptoms you have and also the VDC will be disabled. What I suggest doing is first, having the check engine light scanned for codes.
