I'm no saying the prodigy dose not have room or need to improve, cause it dose. We've had three more Stacato P's come through the shop for transfer and all of them have the same amount of disco drag the gun tuber experts are in a rage about with the prodigy. Both the prodigy's were $1400 OTD at a lgs. so $1,000 savings vs the Staccato for me (for 1 Prodigy vs 1 Staccato). Of course now I want the P, cause buy all the guns. Even if I add an EGW ignition kit to the 5", I'd still be $850 cheaper than the P. For some that is pocket change, for others, not so much.

A guy i shoot with weekly just got his yesterday and says its just as good as the Staccato’s he owns, (C2, CS and P). The kicker is the Platypus (the way i have it configured) is 800-1000 less than the C2.Some will also say cost difference justifies better build quality on Staccato, but I personally disagree. Regardless, the most noticeable/used benefit being new to the platform would likely be the Dawson guide rod and you can add that to prodigy for like $60 or so. So ultimately that’s up to you if extra cost for Staccato is worth it.
