Secondly, the ecodiesel was the biggest disappointment I ever expierenced with Dodge. My problems started at approximately 6000 miles, and went strictly downhill from there. My local dealer has replaced just about everything to do with the fuel system. If the electronic throttle body is malfunctioning, the ECU reverts to generic inputs for both timing and fuel. This will keep your engine running, but you’ll often end up using way too much fuel since the ECU can’t optimize it for your current driving conditions. It’s better than nothing, but it’s not great.

While I was driving, I started noticing that I had to press on the accelerator quite hard in order for the truck to move a bit faster and moments later, I had the service electronic throttle control appear along with a check engine.
